I can’t believe I’m writing this post.
It’s so hard to believe that one year ago today, I walked down the aisle towards my husband. Everyone told me that my wedding would be the best day of my life, but I was not prepared for the amount of love, gratefulness, and down-right fun I felt on that day. Part of my wedding story was shared on Brides.com, but pictures and words can’t do justice to how magical the day was.
My husband and I dated on and off for 9 years before getting married, and we bought a condo together before we were engaged, so I can’t say much changed when we got married. Which honestly, I think is the best part. To feel the same way about someone as you did when you were 18 is something very special, and I can’t wait to celebrate each milestone year of our marriage.
I didn’t plan on this post being super sentimental, but I can’t help but feeling emotional today as I look back on our photos. One of the best advices I received right before our wedding day was to make sure we took a second to really soak in the day. Right before my husband and I walked into our reception, about to be introduced as husband and wife, I peaked into the door to see 97 people joined together. Ninety-seven people from different points in our lives who traveled to New York City, dress up, and celebrate with us. How lucky were we? I hope I never lose the way I felt at that moment.
I’m officially turning off my sappy-switch (until dinner tonight when we celebrate), but I wanted to share some photos from our day. Cheers to my husband and I, and for many more anniversaries. The best is yet to come.
