It’s been a moment since I’ve blogged, and it hasn’t been for any reason that I’ve been enjoying taking a slower pace recently.
Last summer was a busy one for my husband and I between traveling, Europe, work, and more. Summer is one of the best times in the Chicago, so we’ve been looking forward to spending more time in the city this season. Outside of going home to Florida next week, which I can’t wait for, we haven’t made many travel plans in hopes of enjoying the beautiful weather and squeezing the most out of summer in Chicago.
One of my best friends just had a baby last week (Heidy of BECLOTHESMINDED) and I was lucky enough to be in the delivery room. It was one of the most emotional experiences of my life… and it was way more relaxed than the movies make it seem (I feel like Knocked Up kinda lied to me?!) She was a complete badass and pushed to Cardi B. Baby Oliver is so beautiful and I can’t wait to watch him grow and change this summer!
I also recently stopped by Happy Place – an adorable, instagram-worthy pop-up – and it was so much fun. You have to stop by! It’s open until August 6th and perfect for kids and adults to enjoy. They also have rainbow grilled cheese and one of my favorites foods, cotton candy.
My husband and I are also currently looking for a new home. I absolutely love our little condo in the West Loop, but we’ve definitely outgrown our space – we are literally bursting at the seams and hold our breathe when we open a closet, anticipating a suitcase to fall on our heads. It was the perfect home for us when we moved in five years ago, but we’re also looking forward to having a little more space and maybe living an area that feels a bit more like a neighborhood. We haven’t landed on an area in the city yet, but are including Logan Square, Bucktown, Ukranian Village, Roscoe Village, Ravenswood, and Lakeview in our search. Can you tell we’re all over the place? All we know is that we think it’s about time the dogs interact with a tree our two on their walks! Stay tuned for more updates on that.
