I’m writing this after our 10 day vacation in sunny South Florida!
We got back a couple of days ago after spending almost two weeks down south relaxing by the pool, hanging with family and friends, and celebrating our baby boy. Since the holidays are coming up and I won’t be able to travel after, we had an earlier than normal baby shower at Sundy House in Delray, Florida. And it was one of the most special days we’ve ever experienced! My mom and Heidy, with the help of some of my friends, thought of every little detail to make it perfect. My best friends Courtney and Christina got my favorite candies for the candy bar and my favorite cupcakes from Publix (if you’ve ever lived in the south, you KNOW they have the best bakery), to the color of the hydrangeas on the table and the geronimo balloons that Heidy made sure I had… everything was so me. When I was in Paris I came across Le Petite Prince and loved it, so there were little hints of the story sprinkled throughout the shower, topped off with the book that traveled to New York, Minnesota, and back to Florida so two of my besties who couldn’t make it could sign it. And I was obsessed with the photo props and candy bags by Debi Lilly! Guests were also asked to bring books in lieu of cards, and I’m so excited to go through them and read the little notes they left inside.
Side note: since I know my mom and Heidy are both reading this right now, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for this day.
I’m someone who doesn’t cry often in public but I was so overwhelmed with joy and felt so loved, I teared up thanking everyone for being there. Pregnancy is a long and emotional journey, so to see so many people from my life there in one room, and know that so many family and friends were also celebrating our son from afar, made my heart burst. I know, so sappy right? My brother also flew in from LA to take photos from my shower, which I am so happy he was there for.
Here are a few of my favorite snaps from the day!
